I have a POD and PODfarm, and I find the free amp sims and impulses to be much more to my liking. IMO the free stuff that's available may steer you in a better general direction than what PODfarm is giving you. He's learning and trying to wrap his head around engineering and mixing.ĪFAIK, PODfarm and mixing in general is somewhat new to him, so I don't think he's looking for quick fixes, as he is just starting out of the gate.Īnd Aaron, I'd also check into downloading the TSE x30 amp sims and learn about impulses. I know Aaron and he isn't one of these guys. Obviously there are people who come here with nothing more on their minds than grabbing presets and calling themselves an engineer. The only time "copying" is looked down upon is when you are trying to create your own work based on the research, experimentation and study you have done. We use textbooks and experiments in school that accomplish the same goal. Hope this helps at least point you in the right directionĬlick to expand.I'd like to think most dudes who ask for presets will break down the preset as to "why" it sounds the way it does and utilize that knowledge to make it their own. Oh!!! also I remember there were a couple (from memory) by a person who goes by backmask on here that was pretty rad as well. at least I think that's what it was posted under. But for what it's worth, check out the tone library on line 6's website and do a search for Toxic Grind Machine or black neon bob. Unfortunately I can't remember all of their names at the moment.

There's been a few really good ones on here. I remember a while back black neon bob posted some of his podxt presets. No wonder so many people have been talking about leaving this place. Surely any number of you have heard from your own mother or someone else's mother "if you dont have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all".Īll the negativity that's perpetually fed day after day into this place is definitely not going to help it in any way shape or form. If it kills you to interact with other people in the world, perhaps you shouldn't. Is it really THAT hard to be a nice person? It seems pretty clear and simple to me that in order to put a foot in the right direction and productively make positive changes around this place maybe we should look at how WE contribute to this place instead of bashing on everyone who doesn't do exactly like we do. I fail to understand how continual smarmy, sarcastic, pompous and self-righteous attitudes are going to IMPROVE this forum that apparently is "going down hill" and "isn't what it used to be". How many of you HATED a teacher in school for acting EXACTLY as you treat "newbs" who haven't spent as much time in audio production as yourselves?

Patience make for a good teacher no matter how many times you have to teach the same thing over and over. I fail to see how its productive to continue giving people a hard time and then complaining about the deterioration of this forum when its meant to be a learning place or rather that's what keeps us all coming back. There seems to be endless bitching moaning and complaining about anyone who asks for presets because they apparently don't follow your specified protocol in order to be an audio engineer. I'm not speaking on behalf of all pod owners, more so trying to make an obvious point. It works and it makes sense, or at least the multitude of pod owners who love them seem to think so, anyway.

That is one of the MAIN SELLING POINTS of the product. I think it should be fairly obvious by now that the majority of pod users realize the tones aren't going to be identical to the originals but ITS A GREAT STARTING POINT in most cases, at least.

ESPECIALLY for the line 6 pod series which has a main selling point of being able to COPY TONES AND SOUNDS from different setups. I've read a lot of complaints on this forum from "veteran" or "long-term" members regarding the amount of people asking for help with tones.
